This week we have featured a husband and wife team in Belleville, Illinois. Melisa Cochrum and her husband Eric design and create handmade jewelry and accessories using semi-precious gemstones, crystals, pearls, glass beads, wood, wire and metals.Their shop on Zibbet is known as CC Creations. Melisa and Eric find that creating together is a fun and relaxing way to spend time together. They are always looking for new materials and techniques to challenge themselves and improve their skills. Please enjoy the interview, leave Melisa a comment, and then use the Share Tools so others can read it, too. Please spread the Zibbet Love!
Hi! My name is Melisa and I create jewelry. My very understanding and supportive husband Eric is my partner in this venture although he doesn’t get much time to actually create these days. We both work full-time so we try to balance being creative with bringing home the bacon.I love being able to create something beautiful using colors I see all around me.I have been trying to be more aware of my surroundings and really ‘see’ the world around me to draw even more inspiration.
I look up to all the jewelry makers that start as a home-based business and work hard to make that dream grow into something great.I have had the pleasure of meeting several of them and they are truly inspiring!Unfortunately, there isn’t enough time in the day for all the things we would like to do but we would love to travel around the US someday.I love the friendly atmosphere and ease of use.The shops look very nice once they are all set up and there are a lot of new features that will be added with the upgrade.I can’t wait for the guest checkout and, perhaps, a mass update feature for listings.
I promote mainly with Facebook and posting/passing out business cards. I also have a Twitter and Pinterest account that I need to get back to updating regularly.Take great pictures and fill your shop up. I personally love to browse Zibbet whenever I get a chance and I am really drawn to the shops that have pictures that ‘pop’ and a lot of items to choose from!…selling exclusively on Zibbet.I believe this is possible once the upgrade happens and the Zibbet name gets out there. Self-promotion will still be a big part of it, of course, but I truly think Zibbet could become one of the big handmade sites.Tags: CC Creations, Featured Zibbeters

My name is Chani Lee . I grew up in the Portland area, but have come to love living in the beautiful High Desert of Central Oregon. I have a wonderful and caring husband and a sweet little girl of the age of four. I have always loved to create even from a very young age. As a child I would watch my mom paint, sew and craft many wonderful things. When I was old enough she would teach me how to create them with her whenever I took an interest. In my high school years, I signed up for every art class the school offered. I wanted to try everything my schedule had room for. I love trying new forms of art and can never really quite sit still without planning a new design. I carry a sketch book with me wherever I go just for this reason. I’m a bit of a book and video game geek. I love to read fantasy and science fiction most often and love a good story. One of my favorite books is “Neverwhere” by Neil Gaiman.
I also take care of a vegetable garden. I am currently teaching my daughter how to take care of her own little flower garden.Inspiration is everywhere but I find a great deal of my own inspiration when I am outdoors. There is just something about a nice walk on a sunny day that gets my creative side going. By the time I arrive home again I am already planning what materials to use for the new idea running around in my head.My mother, who first taught me the joys of creating and who encouraged me when I decided to pursue my dream of making jewelry and art my career. I also admire my dad for teaching me the value of setting goals and working to achieve them. He taught me to never say the words “I can’t”, because nobody ever achieved anything by thinking it impossible.
Aside from my art and my jewelry my biggest passion in my life is my family. The welcoming atmosphere and friendly community I have found here.I would love a way to organize my wish list. It would be great to categorize the things I have added by supplies, things I want for myself, and things I wish to buy for others.I have a website where I post galleries of my past work that also links to the different places where my work is available, including Zibbet.
I also post new items on Twitter, Pinterest and have a business page on Facebook.Take time to build up your Zibbet shop to be the best it can be. Don’t be afraid to change things to find the best way that works for you and your shop. Take advantage of the free business cards promotion Zibbet has with Moo.com and promote what you create. And in the words of Neil Gaiman, “Make good art.”…still be creating art in some form or another and simply enjoying life. I don’t think I will ever truly be done creating.
New sellers especially have lots of questions when they’re learning their way around Zibbet and getting their shops set up. and lowercase letters doesn’t really matter, it does make your username more readable and easier to remember.
One of my favorite Zibbet features is the community of wonderful sellers here. The best place to get to know Zibbet sellers is at Zibbet’s Community Hub, Zibbet’s social networking site. If you’ve not joined the Community yet, there is no better time than the present! Once you’ve opened your ZCH account, jump right in–introduce yourself and start getting acquainted. Besides receiving a warm and friendly welcome, you’ll quickly come to know how supportive Zibbet sellers are of each other–promoting others is the norm. There are several popular promotional strategies employed by friendly Zibbet sellers…
From Middleburgh, New York, I interviewed Linda Micardi this week. Her shop on Zibbet is called Cotton Creek Cottage.Linda loves primitive and early American decorating. She hunts for transferware and linens as well as many other antique items in her spare time. Her searches lead her to the best of English dinnerware and china and she pass along those treasures to you. Please enjoy the interview, leave Linda a comment, and then use the Share Tools so others can read it, too. Hi, My name is Linda Micardi, I am a single mother of a 13 yr. old son Matthew., I soley work at home selling what I have always loved, Transferware and Linens. I started collecting Transferware many years ago and would find myself going to flea markets, garage sales and auctions as often as I could., I worked a full time 9-5 job until the age of 40 to pay the bills and realized I did not want to do this forever, so when I saved up enough money to stay at home, I quit my job, put all my savings and energy into my online business and started selling. Making my weekend hobby a full time job. Today I enjoy staying home, picking on the weekends and sharing my passion with others, by selling my Transferware, China and Linens online. I love to go to flea markets, auctions, garden at home and listen to classical music.
The love I have for history and discovering treasures that others would think are just dishes., each piece tells a story and that is a part of history that should never be forgotten.I look up to my good friend Linda Lawson, who also loved history and old forgotten items., She taught me so much about history and gave me many items that we both loved. She has passed on, but never forgotten., I think of her often when I find something I know she would have loved., I enjoyed the time we spent together and miss her dearly. My gardening, I love to work in my vegetable garden when time permits, I love sitting on my porch in the spring time listening to the sounds of the birds and the smells of a new season.
I enjoy quite time, and spend allot of time with my son doing fun family things. The freedom to do what we want without a ton of rules., To express our selves and show our passions in what we do. They are very flexible and want to see each and everyone of use succeed.More stats on traffic view, where there coming from, who see’s us and to be able to have the capability to favor an item we like, by just 1 click of the item, more exposure is always a plus.
I try to promote on every site I belong to as often as I can, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Zibbet, by showing what is in my shop as I list it.Use whatever tools that are offered as much as possible., self promote often and join groups and forums to keep up to date of any new info. and always ask questions when in doubt.I’d like to be know for my passion of collecting and selling transferware, I’d like to be the queen on Zibbet for selling Transferware and Linens and to have many customers come to my shop for unique, rare and hard to find items, as I get them, I will always be adding new things and I always tell my customers to ask if they don’t see something they are looking for, I will try my best to find it.
Designating one day to honor our fathers is hardly enough. Hopefully they are in our hearts and thoughts every day but on June 16th, remind him of your love with a treasured gift from Zibbet.
