I think your shipping charge is just fine.

I agree you need to give it more time.

You joined Zibbet just this month.

If you can, try to add more to your shop.

And welcome again,

Personally I think it is too high. All of your items are lightweight as far as I can see. They would be able to be shipped in a small padded envelope for less than $2. For all of the items I send out, I have a flat rate shipping of $2. It usually costs anywhere from $1.56 to $1.87 to ship my items and that includes the delivery confirmation number. The rest pays for the envelope if it is a new one. I don't believe anyone should try to make a profit off of shipping charges. Not that I think you are trying to do that, I just know some people do.

You can try lowering the cost and see how you do. I wish you much success!

I agree with this but you have to include your packaging and handling charges somewhere.  There is a pricing formula that inlcudes the packaging and a certain percentage of the item price to cover your overhead.  So you have the item price and then your shipping price that covers just your actual cost of shipping.  Otherwise, you have your item price and then a shipping & handling price that includes your packaging costs.  If you don't cover those costs, you are losing money.

Before asking "why am I not selling", ask yourself the following questions:

1) Are my photos top notch?

2) Does my shop have a cohesive overall look?  Are all my photos the same style?

3) Have I learned SEO (search engine optimization) and have I maximized it in my shop, so that I can be found in google searches?

4) Am I doing my best to promote outside of Zibbet?  Have I tried using a blog, or Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Flickr, Wanelo, Squidoo, or any of the other promotional programs?

5) Have I identified specifically who is at the heart of my target market, so that I can maximize my ability to find ways to promote specifically to them?

6) Do I sell in person at craft fairs as a way to get my product seen?

7) Do I use pricing formulas to ensure that my pricing is accurate and consistent, and priced to retail?

These are all things you must do if you want to sell successfully online.

Thanks Giani, info very helpful> I am very new at this and just about get my pictures up. It takes so long. I admit that I have not done many of the things you mentioned. Dumb ?, how do I  find out about SEO? I just did a craft fair and did fantastic. It was only 5 hrs and I sold $600.00 and have gotten a few orders since. I'm trying small boutiques, had much success at holidays. Also, how can I save my descriptions so that I don't have to rewrite all the time?

1) Rewriting descriptions.  Your descriptions should always be different.  You never want verbatim copy on multiple listings.  Google hates duplicate content.  You have to make them about 30% different so google will accept them both.  If google finds duplicate content, it rejects it.

2) You can do a google search for "search engine optimization" and find all sorts of information.

There's a learning curve, but hang in there and keep at it.  It's nothing you can't handle.

Giani, you are most helpful. Thank you. I have not been on facebook or any other sites, and truthfully don't know how to do it. I know I sound like a simpleton, but I've come a long way with computers, so one step at a time. Maybe you can give me some info. My grown kids have no patience with me. Any info will help. I'm already taking your advise on some things. I guess I'm always afraid of giving out too much information about me that's why I hestitate.

In answer to your response, do you mean that I have to write every description over for wherever I post, such as facebook, etc.?

No, I meant your descriptions from one listing to the next, and from one site to the next.

If I list, for instance, three of the same necklace, only in different sizes, I should not use the exact same product description in all three listings, because it might confuse google and register as duplicate content, when it isn't.

I can't help you with facebook.  I don't use it.

Zibbet has a team for almost every type of social media.  Perhaps you could join some of those teams (like a facebook team, a twitter team, a tumblr team, a pinterest team, etc) and learn from the pros of each one how best to use them.

13. Lifetime Deal - Advance Notice!

We've run the Lifetime Deal just a measly 3 times in the history of Zibbet!  Every time, without fail, a bunch of people are left disappointed about two things:

1. They missed out because they were away from their computer the day we ran the deal
2. They wished they had been given advanced notice so they could have saved up for it

Well guess what?!  We are going to run the Lifetime Deal once more and we're going to solve both of these issues!

Solving issue #1:  Instead of running the deal for just "1 Day Only" like we have in the past, we're going to make it available for 12 consecutive days. That's right, 12 days in a row!!  However, there is a catch...We will only be offering 20 Lifetime Accounts per day. Once they are sold for that day, that's it - you'll have to wait until the next day if you missed out.

Solving issue #2:  We're planning to run this promotion sometime towards the end of September / early October. So you have plenty of time to save!  Total cost: just $200 USD.

We're calling this promotion Zibbet 2012. 20 Lifetime Accounts a day, for 12 consecutive days...clever aren't we!  LOL.  It's going to be a lot of fun and we will promote this heavily, with the aim to bring lots of new sellers on board Zibbet. We'd love your help in promoting this.  If you're chatting about it in the Twittersphere, please use #Zibbet2012 so we can keep track of the conversation!

Spread the word and start saving!

Thanks

5. Pick a Shop To Promote for the Best Christmas Gifts : A friend's or a stranger's

This thread is for you to post promotions of any Zibbet shop, except your own.

Pick a favorite Zibbet shop that you think has great gift ideas for the upcoming Holidays.

Gifts, stocking stuffers, etc. For children or adults.

I am promoting my friend's shop:

Jack and Sue Hahn, known at shows as The Marble Man.

They are brand new to Zibbet:

But they are longtime crafters.

I met them at a show back in the 80s, the days when you could pick up strangers at shows and bring them home with you. They have stayed at my home and I have stayed at their home when traveling.

The woodworking they do is perfectionism and their games are awesome.

Every Zibbet kid and Zibbet grandkid should get this set of marbles, bag and great Marble Book written and printed by Jack and Sue. You'll love the book about shooting marbles.

For the kids and adults on your list, check out the marble game boards of all kinds.

Happy Holidays!

Who's next? Promote a shop of a friend or stranger.
