On May 16 we announced a Wedding Challenge in the Community Hub. Thirty-seven shops entered the challenge. It was open to all: fine art, crafts, vintage and supplies.
I created a fictitious bride-to-be. The young bride wished for an outdoor woodsy wedding. She loves trees, rocks, shells, and all things natural.
She is a nature girl. She tells the fictitious wedding planner she doesn’t like frivolous and glittery things. She likes simplicity. This is what the 5 top winners came up with for a woodsy wedding. First place goes to Twist of Nature. Second place winner was Texas Eagle and there was a 3-way tie for third place.
1. Wedding or Event Table Numbers on Wood Slices in Branch Holder - Wood Burned by Twist of Nature $60: This set of wood table numbers won first place with the highest score, for our young bride’s woodsy wedding. Twist of Nature is a new shop on Zibbet and wins the honor of being an upcoming Featured Zibbeter.

2. Paper Roses Kissing Ball by Texas Eagle $20: Second place winner in the wedding challenge is Texas Eagle with their kissing ball made from recycled pages of an out-dated encyclopedia. Displayed hanging from the trees, this a wonderful item for the woodsy wedding of our bride-to-be who loves recycled items.

3. Ring Pillow OOAK by Joyananda $45: For the woodsy wedding what could be better than a ring pillow made with a real bird’s nest. This ring pillow includes something old and something blue. You really must see the additional photos and item description provided by Joyananda.

4. Woodsy Bohemian Flower Girl Dress by Sew Many Treasures $55: Well named as Woodsy/ Bohemian this little flower girl dress was made entirely from reclaimed, upcycled natural fibers of linen and cotton. Wood buttons, wooden beads and bits of shells were incorporated to go with the theme of the challenge.

5. Wedding Ring Box by Clay Scenes $50: Clay Scenes created this ring box for the woodsy wedding inscribed with words from a Native American Indian Wedding Ceremony signifying the importance of Mother Earth. This one-of-a-kind wedding ring box was carved from a single block of clay.
