Answers to this Week’s Top Five FAQs

All of the new and returning Zibbet sellers have brought many questions to Zibbet Support recently. I thought I’d share quick answers to what I’ve determined to be our top five FAQs of late to help get answers out more quickly. Scanning recent Support tickets, here are questions that I’ve answered frequently:

Once upon a time I had a Zibbet shop. However, I closed that account and now I’d like to use that same username but the Zibbet system won’t let me. What do I need to do? Can my account be reopened? Yes, accounts closed voluntarily by their owners can be reopened by Zibbet Support. Once a username has been claimed, it can only be used by the original owner of that name. Please send the username of the closed account to Zibbet Support and we’ll be happy to reopen that account for you.

When I try to log in to my new account, I get an error message that says I don’t have permission to access that area. What does this mean? This situation usually is caused by an interruption during the sign up process. This problem is easy to solve by Support. Let us know that you’ve encountered the permission message and we’ll assign the missing permission to your account. Please note that in order to log in to your Zibbet account, you must correctly enter your username and password. Usernames are not case sensitive but passwords are. Double check to make sure that Caps Lock isn’t turned on on your keyboard when you’re logging in.

I want a different username for my account. How do I change it? Usernames cannot be changed. We urge you to carefully select your username and double check your spelling before you click the Next button on the first sign up page. If you make a mistake, you have the option of opening another account with the username you prefer. Please note that your username is used by Zibbet to identify your account and it appears in the URL for your shop and each of your item pages. For more information on selecting a username, please read Username Selection Tips and Reminders.

I need to collect sales tax for purchases made by customers who live in my state. How do I set this up in Zibbet? Zibbet doesn’t provide a sales tax application. You’ll need to set this up through your PayPal account. You’ll find the ‘Set tax rates’ link under ‘Shipping and Tax’ near the bottom of the Merchant Services page. We recommend that you include a statement in either your shop policies or item descriptions or both, letting buyers know that sales tax will be added when payment is made at PayPal.

I want to take advantage of the free trial for a Premium account but I can’t get the coupon code to work. What do I do? First, make sure that you’ve spelled the coupon code name correctly. Second, don’t forget to click the Redeem button before moving on to the next sign up page. Third, when you’re taken to PayPal during the sign up process, you have to commit to purchasing a paid subscription. You won’t be charged until your free trial period ends. At that point, you’ll be charged automatically. Please note if you already have a Premium subscription, a free trial coupon won’t work for you. Zibbet’s free trials are for first time Premium subscriptions.

Best wishes for much success on Zibbet!
