Apart from being a wife and mom, I am an artist and crafter. I discovered my love for art when I was a senior in High School and decided to drop band and pick up an art class. I continued studying art into college and learned I was actually good at it. I have worked with graphite pencils, colored pencils, ink, oils, and clay. One of my pieces made the front cover of our school magazine and I placed second in the amateur division at the Georgia National Fair in Perry, GA. After moving to North Carolina, I have become a stay-at-home mom which allows me to focus on my artwork.
I do the normal mom routine. I clean the house and keep my daughter entertained. I just got into “couponing” which has saved us a lot of money. I have cut our grocery bill down to $400.00 per month which is huge considering the amount of diapers we go through! A Netflix movie night with my husband is always something I enjoy as well!
When I was in college I was introduced to art nouveau. Ever since then I have been borderline obsessed with it. I love the lines and the overall feeling of the art. The artist Alphonse Mucha is my biggest inspiration as you will see in many of my works.
I look up to my parents. They are a very hard working couple and I see a bit of myself pulled from both of them. My mother has always been into crafts and my father has always been a large influence on me in my walk with Christ. I hope my husband and I can give our children a great childhood like my parents did for me and my sisters.
After a bad day it’s nice to dance the stress away and then relax with some good yoga!
I love the community. Everyone here is so warm and inviting. The fact that I can personalize the look of my shop is a bonus!
I would love to see virtual labs. Having that real time connection with others and admin would be fantastic.
I promote my work on my facebook page and on my blog. I will be entering some local art shows next year as well.
I am fairly new here on Zibbet, but I think the monthly payment is a great deal for what you get. List as many items as you can and promote your shop as much as possible!a college art professor or a local art teacher.
