I love being a stay-at-home mom to my beautiful daughter and wife to a very supportive husband in the military. I have always loved finding new creative ways to impress my family and friends at our parties and I wanted to share this with others. I graduated from college with a degree in graphic design and had been in the sales and advertising industry for the past 10 years. Once I had my daughter in 2010, I took a big leap of faith and left my 9-to-5 job to focus on my new business, Sweet’n Treats. I enjoy creating personalized edible cake and cupcake toppers for any special occasion so others can “wow” their party guests, too!Between reading the same book to my daughter for the hundredth time (since it’s her favorite) and juggling a busy household, I love to spend time with my family and friends. During the summer months, we like to have everyone over to sit around the bonfire, laugh and make s’mores.
Through out high school, I loved being creative in my art classes and I pursued my interests in college but my true inspiration for owning my small business is my daughter. I wanted to have flexible hours so I would not miss a single milestone in her life. She has taught me so much in such a short amount of time. My role model is my mom. She has done everything possible (and even continues now when I’m an adult) to make sure everyone in our family is taken care of. She has made me the person I am today and truly thankful for this. I hope I can be the same inspiration to my daughter as she grows up.
With the craziness of each work week, I love to spend time on the weekends with my hubby watching a movie with a glass of wine. I also take a spinning class with my best friend every Sunday morning to catch up and on nice, sunny days, I like to take my daughter to our local park.Zibbet has a great community of crafters and I feel lucky to be part of this awesome group! Fellow Zibbeters understand the dedication that goes into crafting their items and respects the hard work. Interactive workshops that can be accessed online for Zibbet shop owners. I am always interested in learning how to make my shop a better place for customers and online workshops would help tremendously. Tips about SEO, key search words or even how to photograph your items differently to attract more attention to your listings.
I promote my edible cake and cupcake toppers on my website as well as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, local newspapers and other listing sites. I am also active within the community at craft shows and local events. I am always busy creating something new and really excited about our newest gift-giving items: custom designed kid-safe melamine plates that are great for everyday use or special occasions.
List, list, list! One great benefit to Zibbet is the monthly flat-rate membership. Other sites make you pay per listing so it is discouraging to list all of your great items since you might not want that big listing fee invoice at the end of the month. List everything…you never know what a customer might like!In the future I’d like to be able to travel cross-country with my husband and children. We recently bought an RV and hope to see the world.Tags: Featured Zibbeters, Sweet n Treats
