Thankfully no damage this time but the 2nd VIOLENT storm in 5 days left us without internet for 20 hours. The first one knocked out the freezer and we didn't notice for 2 days.......nasty! My son had some damage but  okay and many lost power. We had curiosities!

Lots of houses ruined one mile away from me. Then last week, we had a microburst and a huge tree came into the lady downstair's picture window. She is ok though. ? Reply

Thanks for the sharing the photos.

It's me Judy, using daughter's account on her computer.

Lightning got my computer, and now I need a new motherboard.

Nearly knocked me out of my seat. Have to wait for Mac Tech to contact me, and then they will come to the house and switch out the motherboard.

Diane Svete-Noxon Permalink Reply by Diane Svete-Noxon on June 16, 2011 at 4:43pm It must've been South of Me. For hours last night I could see the lightning, hear the thunder and the lights would flicker. I actually got very little rain. The winds were continuous and I heard the windchimes raging outside all evening. ? Reply

Wow, sounds really scarey!

Glad you're ok, and no serious damage.

All About The Buttons Permalink Reply by All About The Buttons on June 16, 2011 at 3:59pm Yes, we're fine.Winds were clocked at 71 mph. It was scary but also fascinating. Obviously I wasn't scared enough since I went out to take the photos. Supermarket down the road still doesn't have power...don't buy meat or fish there! The worst? No internet! We're so dependent, it's awful. ? Reply

I was thinking about you last night while it was coming down crazy here too. We got plenty of rain and lost a few branches. Our kiddie pool went air born and landed a good football field away all torn up.

We didn't get no hail. Thank god, don't have a garage, don't need car damage. But the winds where very scary last night. And we got lucky and didn't loose power.

Stay safe up north!

All About The Buttons Permalink Reply by All About The Buttons on June 16, 2011 at 5:41pm Turns out my son has about $4000 worth of damage! He lives 1/5 of a mile from me and has a big open field so the wind apparently just swirled and swirled and did a number but they are fine. ? Reply

What a summer this may be--and we're only 1/2 a month into hurricane season down here in "Hurricane Alley". No tropical activity yet though. But the heat is horrid. Everything is dry. We've had a few thunderstorms lately but they never last long and there is hardly enough rain to settle the dust.

Frauke, like you, I don't have a garage and I really don't want to think about a hail storm! Well, any kind of storm for that matter. Just a long, long soaking rain would be nice though!

A house about 3 miles from me was on the news. It looked like 100 golfers aimed at the house....windows broken and holes in the siding. My neighbor's car was out in the hail last night and it's okay.... the car is 6 months old.

it wasn't in his garage because he had been cleaning up the mess made by his blown refrigeratofreezer....everything had melted and leaked from the last storm!
