We enjoyed our interview with Alice and hope you will too. If you enjoy this as much as we did, use the Share tool so others can enjoy her interview also. The share tools allow you email this interview to all your friends.

Hello everyone!  Most of you know me as Alice but I will bet you didn’t know that my name is actually Alicia, Alicia Peterson.  I am the creative force behind Mimi and Colette. My family and I call the northern part of Illinois home.  My husband and I will be married 24 years this year. I am the proud parent of one son who just finished his first year in college. Currently I work in the retail industry, one of the largest fabric/craft stores in the U.S.  with the hopes of being self-employed again someday soon.

I dabble in so many different crafty areas but my favorites are crochet and sewing. I learned to crochet from my Mom when I was 7 years old. As for sewing, my Aunt was a seamstress and I always found it fascinating to watch her create a beautiful dress, top or skirt, so formal lessons began at age 10.

Where to start. Spending time with family and friends tops the list.  I also love reading. Then there is gardening, cooking, wine tastings, bicycle riding, festivals, hiking, nature parks, antique shops, garage sales, puzzles, games and so many other things too.  I find that I am always doing something, I don’t know how else to be.

Everything around me inspires me.  Everything I touch, hear and see. The people, animals and nature. For example…..If I see a person without a hat, I start thinking about what color would look good with what they are wearing. Then maybe a scarf too.

During the winter, at least in my neck of the woods, I feel cold so I am thinking our pets could use a coat or a snuggly blanket to ward off a bit of that chill.

I look up to any person that has overcome an obstacle in their life. People who are positive role models. People who live their lives with honesty and integrity. Those who always find the time to lend a hand no matter the size of the task.

We have much to learn from these people.

To learn more. I still have to learn to tat, quilt and create stained glass.  The one thing I really would love to learn more about is my family ancestry.

The sense of family, acceptance, belonging.  The clean look and how easy Zibbet is to use.

Just when I think I have something ‘new’ I would like to see, I find out it’s being worked on. The administration here is always on top of things.

My online promoting is mainly done through Twitter and Facebook.  I always carry business cards to pass around.  Since I work in a craft store, I tend to talk to people about their projects.  I include Zibbet in that conversation.  I also do several craft fairs each year. My tables have my business cards, shop magnets and show schedules with my Zibbet shop address listed too.  All packages that are shipped get a Zibbet sticker too.

After you set up your shop, please don’t neglect it.  First, if at all possible, go Premium. Get a banner, an avatar, fill in your shop policies.  Even then, you are not done. Pictures can always be tweaked and descriptions improved. Next, you really have to join the Community Hub too. Connect with other Zibbeters.

Happy, healthy and running my prosperous company from the comfort of home.
